Police nab 25 alleged militants

GAIBANDHA, July 24 (BSS): The police Saturday arrested 25 alleged operatives of militant Allar Dal, believed to be an offshoot of banned Jamaatul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), in the district as a security campaign is underway against the extremists across the country.
Gaibandha Police Super Shahadat Hossain said a police squad raided a village in Rath bazar area in the district on a tip off as the operatives of the banned outfit were suspected to be holding a meeting on their future course of actions.
He said the detained militants were taken to Gaibandha Sadar police station for initial questioning while police was expected to seek a court order today (Sunday) to quiz them in custody.
