Police nab 64 during anti-drug drives in two districts

At least 64 people were held in anti-drug drives in Sherpur and Chapainawabganj districts from Monday night to Tuesday morning, reports UNB.
In Sherpur, 40 people were arrested along with 37 grams of heroin, 100 Yaba pills and 1.0 kg hemp from different places.
Additional Police Superintendent Md Aminul Islam said at least 11 cases were filed against the arrestees with different thanas in the district.
In Chapainawabganj, 24 others were arrested from different places of Sadar and Shibganj upazilas, said inspector Idris Ali of Sadar thana.
On Tuesday noon in PTI Milpara area, executive magistrate Nayan Kumar conducted an anti-drug drive, he said.
The mobile court awarded four months' jail to each of the four drug addicts.
