Police have neutralised in controlled explosions two bombs reportedly planted by a young man at a shopping mall in Dhaka's Badda, reports bdnews24.com.
Witnesses said he fled after placing a bag on the staircase of Tanha Plaza at the Gudaraghat on Gulshan-Badda Link Road around 12pm on Monday.
Before fleeing, he told people at the scene there were bombs in the bag, the witnesses said.
On being informed, a bomb disposal unit of the police visited the scene and found two improvised explosive devices or IEDs.
Badda Police Station Inspector Nazrul Islam told bdnews24.com they first thought it was a prank, but the bomb disposal unit later confirmed there were indeed bombs in that bag.
