Police officer dies in Barisal crash

A police officer died in a road accident in Ujirpur Upazila in Barisal district on Saturday morning. The deceased was identified as Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Mokhlesur Rahman. He was stationed at Batajore police outpost in Gournadi Upazila. Ujirpur police OC Anowar Hossain said a Dhaka-bound bus of 'Eagle Paribahan' fell into a roadside ditch in the morning. Ten people, including Deputy Secretary Ranjit Kumar Das of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, were injured. OC Hossain said ASI Rahman was killed on the spot. The injured were rushed to different0 local hospitals and clinics and Barisal's Sher-e-Bangla Medical College and Hospital, according to a news agency.
