Police recovers body of man killed in BSF firing

Police recovered the body of a man, who was reportedly shot to death by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) members on Kushkhali border early Saturday, from a field at Badhilki village in Sadar upazila of Satkhira district early Sunday. The deceased was identified as Mukul Hossain, 35, son of Mahatab Uddin of Hawalkhali village in the upazila. Sub-inspector of Sadar Police Station Abul Kalam said being informed by the local people, a team of police recovered the body from a field at Badhilki village at about 12:30 am. The body was sent to Satkhira Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. Earlier, BSF troops from Dubli camp opened fire on a group of Bangladeshi men, including Mukul, while they were returning homes with cattle around 3:00am on Saturday, leaving him dead on the spot. Officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station Emdad Hossain confirmed the incident, according to a news agency.
