Police rescue abducted Old Dhaka businessman

Police have rescued a businessman, abducted by miscreants for ransom, from Jurain area in the city. Five persons, including two women, have been detained for suspected involvement with the abduction. Md Abdul Hakim, 55, was abducted from in front of his house at Mokimbazar in the city on Thursday afternoon. The abductors contacted Hakim’s family and demanded ransom, police said. Bongshal police OC Abdul Quddus Fakir said the abductors were given a certain amount of money via bKash, a mobile phone-based payment system. Police raided a house in Jurain and detained from there four persons – ‘Shaon’, ‘Rana’, ‘Hridoy’, and ‘Nishi’. “Based on their information, Hakim was rescued from another house in the area on Saturday,” he said. “We detained another woman, Bhagya Rani, from there,” the OC added, according to bdnews24.com.
