Police seize 3,000 tonnes of banned fertiliser

JESSORE, Apr 18: The local police raided a warehouse of Bagdad Trading at Brothers Ghat under Nawapara Industrial Area in Jessore Thursday and seized about 3,000 tonnes of banned Fused Magnesium Phosphate (FMP).
Abhaynagar Upazila Agriculture Extension Department (AED) Officer Shankar Kumar assisted the police in the operation.
Acting on a tip-off, the police along with the officials of the AED raided the warehouse and seized the fertiliser.
The trader stockpiled those fertiliser in the warehouse that is mainly used in the cane farm and selling those among farmers.
The law enforcers sealed the warehouse.
