Police submits charge sheets against Dulu, 32 others

NATORE, June 5 (UNB): Police have submitted charge sheets against former deputy minister for land Ruhul Kuddus Talukder Dulu and 32 others in a case of extortion and patronising militants.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sadar police station Zahidur Rahman Chowdhury, who is also the investigation officer (IO), submitted the charge sheets at the Cognisance Court here Tuesday.
Selim Raja of Ramshar Kazipur village in Naldanga Upazila filed the case against Dulu, his two nephews and 22 BNP activists with Sadar police station on April 8 this year.
In his case statement, Raja alleged that followers of Bangla Bhai and BNP activists kidnapped him and extorted Tk 32,000 from his family members at the behest of Dulu.
But the IO while investigating the case found links of 11 others in the incident and submitted the charge sheets including their names too.
So far, charge sheets have been submitted against the former deputy minister in eight cases.
