Police take control of Proshika HQ

Thursday, 14 January 2010

The police Wednesday took control of the Proshika headquarters in the city's Mirpur-6 after droving out both the rival groups, who came head to head over its control, from the NGO premises. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Pallabi police station Iqbal Hossain told the FE that they took control of the office and locked the main entrance. "The lockdown will continue until further notice or the pending High Court case is resolved," he said. The police stepped up security in the morning and entered into the head office of the NGO to bring out the supporters of its ousted chairman Kazi Faruque at about 8:30am. Since then the law-enforcers did not allow anyone to step in. — FE Report
