Police to set up posts at eight entry points

CHITTAGONG, Apr 5: The police have decided to set up eight check posts at the city entry points to thwart any miscreants during the upcoming city corporation election.
A police officer said the decision has been taken at the directive of Election Commission office in Chittagong. They have received verbal instructions and are expected to receive a letter in this connection by Monday, an officer of the CMP (Chittagong Metropolitan Police) said.
The points where the check posts will be set up are City Gate at Kattali, Oxygen intersection, Kalurghat Bridge point, Chittagong Airport gate, Kathgarh Patenga, Cement Factory crossing, Gupta Khal area and no 15 jetty gate.
The Police Commissioner of CMP has already instructed the officials to set up the check posts as per directives of the Returning Officer Md Abdul Baten, the CMP officer said.
