Policeman commits suicide

A policeman allegedly committed suicide by taking poison in Khalilganj area in Kurigram Sadar Upazila on Monday night. The deceased was identified as Prakash Chandra Roy, 41, a constable of the district court. He hailed from Lalmonirhat district. Local sources said Constable Prakash Chandra Roy swallowed four bottles of pesticide at his rented house in the area. He was taken to Kurigram Sadar Hospital and then shifted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital where he died around 10:30pm. The reason behind his suicide is yet to be known, police said, according to a news agency.
