Policeman questioned in Ctg madrasa blast case

Hearing the plaintiff in a case of bomb explosion at a madrasa in Chittagong city has ended. Defendant’s lawyer Abdus Sattar questioned plaintiff sub-inspector Md Golam Nawaj at the First Additional Metropolitan Judge’s court in the port city. After the hearing, Judge Jannatul Ferdous fixed August 6 for the next hearing. At the court, defendants’ lawyer sought bail for three accused -- Munir Hossain, Abdul Mannan and Tafsir Ahmed. Additional Public Prosecutor Ashok Das said: ‘I have told the court that Mufti Izahar (principal of the madrasa) is on the run and the accused three will do the same if they get bail.’ Later, the court dismissed the bail request. Defendants’ lawyer Abdus Sattar said ‘During the hearing the plaintiff told the court that he filed case against nine people based on information provided by the injured now undergoing treatment,’ according to bdnews24.com.
