Polling ends in SCBA election

The two-day election to Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) ended on Monday, reports BSS.
The voting started at 10:00 am on Sunday and went on until 5:00 pm with an hour recess. Started at 10:00 am on Monday, the polling ended at 5:00 pm.
The election schedule was announced on February 16. The candidates from pro-Awami League White Panel and Pro-BNP-Jamaat Blue Panel are vying for a total of 14 posts, including President and General Secretary.
Advocate Yusuf Hossain Humayun and Advocate Momtaz Uddin Mehedi are contesting from White Panel while Advocate Khandaker Mahbub Hossain and Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon are contesting from Blue Panel for the posts of President and the General Secretary respectively.
Besides, Advocate Dr Yunus Ali Akanda and Advocate M Obaidul Haq Pirjada are contesting for the post of president as independent candidates. Advocate Nazrul Islam is also contesting as an independent candidate for the post of vice-president.
