Polling in Bhola held peacefully

BHOLA, Dec 29 (BSS): With reports of only a few stray incidents, voting in four parliamentary seats of the district was held peacefully and in a festive mood with the voters turning up in larger number at all poling centres.
Awami League presidium member and former minister Tofail Ahmed, contesting as a grand alliance candidate, cast his vote at Bhola Bangla School centre.
Later talking to reporters, he expressed his satisfaction over the peaceful atmosphere in and around each poling centre, where the voters -- both male and female -- excersised their rights of franchise with a festive mood.
The four-party alliance candidates and BJP chairman barrister Andalib Rahman Partho cast his vote at Bhola Town Hall School centre.
Meanwhile, at least 20 persons were injured in separate clashes between the supporters of rival candidates at Ilisha Patwari Bari centre in Bhola sadar, Madras area in Charfasion, Hajirhat in Monpura, Daulatkhan and Lalmohan.
