JOYPURHAT, Sept 09: Number of unsettled cases going up in the district as some posts of Judges are lying vacant for a long time. Four posts of judges out of seven and posts of two judicial magistrates out of five are vacant. The shortage is causing suffering to the local people.
In the District Judge's Court post of a Joint and Sessions Judge(2) and 3 Assistance Judges have been lying vacant. Besides, the posts of Chief Judicial Magistrate and Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate are also vacant.
Administrative officer of district and session's judge's court Shahidul Islam told FE that about 5 thousand civil and criminal cases are pending in the district.
Public Prosecutor of Joypurhat judge's court Nripendranath Mondol said shortage of judges causes public sufferings and increases case costing.
