Potato farming, marketing meet held in Rangpur

RANGPUR, July 2 (BSS): A view exchanging meeting for the farmers and traders on the developed technology for farming method, preserving and marketing of potato was held in Mahiganj Bazaar area in the outskirts of the town on Sunday.
Mahiganj Potato Farming Society (MPFS) organised the meeting on its office premises with the assistance of BRAC Seed Enterprise and more than 100 potato growers and traders of the area took part in the meeting.
Chaired by President of MPFS Khwaja Ahmed, the meeting was attended by programme manager of BRAC Agro-Marketing Sudhir Chandra Nath as the chief guest.
BRAC Marketing Manager Zonab Ali, agriculturist Mohammad Shaheen, Secretary of MPFS Alamgir Chowdhury, General Secretary of Rangpur District Shop Owners' Association Abul Kalam Chowdhury, lecturers Ahmed Amin and Jahangir Alam of Etakumari Shib Chandra College and potato farmers Alamgir Hossain, Bachchu Mia and Mantu Mia addressed the meeting.
The speakers in the meeting stressed the need for adopting latest available agro-technologies while producing and selecting potato seeds, potato farming, preserving potato and its marketing process for maximum profit of farmers and quality products.
