Potato price goes up in Barisal

BARISAL, Jun 14 (UNB): Price of potato suddenly has shot up by 50 per cent in the district markets in last 48 hours.
After visiting local markets, it was found that wholesale price of per kilogram (kg) of potato was between Tk 10 and Tk 12 Wednesday while it had increased to Tk 18 Friday.
In retail market, potato was sold at between Tk 20 and Tk 22 per kg. On Friday, the retailers alleged that a syndicate of wholesalers had the hands for the sudden price hike of potato.
Besides, price of zinger has also increased from Tk 60 to Tk 70 per kg during the period for the same reason.
