Power, energy roadshow in S'pore today

The government holds a roadshow in Singapore today (Monday) aiming to entice foreign firms to invest in US$ 5.0 billion projects in the country's power and energy sectors.
Around 100 global firms would be taking part in the roadshow to be held at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Singapore.
A high profile Bangladesh delegation led by Prime Minister's adviser on energy issues Dr Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury has already left Dhaka to take part in the roadshow.
A total of 11 projects would be presented in the roadshow for investment.
The projects include, Bibiyana 300-450megawatt (MW) 2nd Unit, Meghnaghat 300-450mw dual fuel unit CC, Bhola 150-225mw 2nd CC, Savar and Kaliakoir peaking plants each having 100mw and imported coal-based steam plant of 2000-2600mw.
Four renewable energy projects with a total capacity of generating 110mw would also be presented along with the LNG terminal project in the Bay of Bengal.
The Bangladesh team would also take part in another roadshow at Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York during January 28-29 next focusing the same projects before the interested foreign firms for investment.
