Power generation crosses 7000-MW mark

The country set a new record by producing 7032 MW of electricity at 70:30 pm on Thursday. Officials at the state-owned Power Development Board (PDB) said this is first time Bangladesh crossed 7,000-MW mark in electricity generation against 6970 MW at 8 pm on March 25. According to the officials, the power generation has got a boost following the installation of new plants in both public and private sectors. The import of 500 MW from India also contributed to the growing power generation, said an official at the PDB.
