Power-hungry people stage demo

Aggrieved locals staged demonstrations in Fatulla of Sadar upazila on Friday protesting frequent power outages in the area over the last three days. They blocked road in Kutubail area for two hours from 9am to 11am by placing logs and burning tyres on it. The power-hungry people also laid siege to the office of the upazila nirbahi officer (UNO). They, however, withdrew the road blockade and gherao programme following an assurance given by the officials concerned of meeting their demands, according to a news agency.
