Power plays truant at PM\\\'s programme

Two Rural Electrification Board (REB) officials in Gazipur have been suspended after a programme, attended by the Prime Minister, was hit by power cut. Sheikh Hasina was attending the 16th anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University. The power outage hit the programme shortly after the Prime Minister had inaugurated several establishments around 10:30am, halting the programme for about 15 minutes. REB Chairman Brig Gen Moin Uddin suspended its Gazipur unit manager Md Jahirul Islam and deputy general manager Khan Md Borhan Uddin.
