PPPA conducts training for public agencies

The Public-Private Partnership Authority (PPPA) has successfully organised a two-day basic training programme at its Agargaon office in Dhaka to enhance capacity on PPP concepts, modalities and project development.
The training that began on Wednesday was inaugurated by Chief Executive Officer (Secretary) of PPPA Muhammad Rafiqul Islam as the chief guest. Director General of PPPA A.K.M. Abul Kalam Azad chaired the event, says a press statement.
A total of 27 participants from various government and affiliated organisations took part in the training.
The participating institutions included Ministry of Industries, Ministry of Youth and Sports, National Sports Council, Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC), Bangladesh Public Procurement Authority (BPPA), Ministry of Planning, Carew & Company (Bangladesh) Limited, Bangladesh Sugar and Food Industries Corporation (BSFIC) and its associated sugar mills.
PPPA CEO Muhammad Rafiqul Islam was also present at the closing ceremony of the training as the chief guest and Director General of PPPA A.K.M. Abul Kalam Azad chaired the event.
In his closing remarks, the chief guest said that while the PPP modality may still be new to many institutions, Bangladesh already has over 80 projects under its PPP portfolio, including several notable success stories.
He urged all agencies to identify unused or underutilised lands and submit project concept notes through their respective ministries to the PPP Authority.
"Through inter-agency collaboration and strategic thinking, we can harness the power of PPP to deliver transformative impact for the people of Bangladesh," he added.
This initiative is part of PPPA's ongoing efforts to enhance institutional readiness and promote effective public-private collaboration for national development.
