Monday, 27 January 2014

The government has banned the practice of lining up primary school students to greet MPs and ministers.
An order from the Primary and Mass Education Ministry Monday warned of ‘tough’ measures against headmasters and governing bodies of schools if the order were violated.
After the Awami League formed government for a second successive time, students were lined on both sides of the streets in scorching sun in different localities to greet local ministers. The gesture of greeting had provoked considerable criticism, according to a news agency.
