PRAN to buy 40,000 tonnes of mangoes this year

Pran Agro Limited, a fruit processing and juice producing company in the country, has set a target to buy 40,000 tonnes of mangoes this year to producing mango juice and mango products, according to a press release.
Mango purchasing drive of the company began on May 19 at Ekdala in Natore and it will continue until July this year.
Chief Executive of Pran-RFL Group Maj Gen (rtd) Amzad Khan Chowdhury inaugurated the drive.
Pran is the lone company which has been purchasing mango from the farmers directly since 2001. "There are three pulping plants at Pran factory in Natore where 5,000 locals are working."
