Reaffirming India’s commitment to economic development of Bangladesh, President Pranab Mukherjee says the two countries must sustain and accelerate the current momentum in all areas of bilateral cooperation.
"A democratic, stable and prosperous Bangladesh is in India's interest. Geographic and economic complementarities of the two countries can be used for mutual advantage to improve the lives of peoples in India and Bangladesh," Mukherjee told Bangladesh’s Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury when she called on him at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi, according to a news agency.
Mukherjee congratulated Chaudhury on her assumption of the office for the second term, saying India attached highest importance to its relations with Bangladesh, according to a press release issued by the Rashtrapati Bhavan Saturday.
