KHULNA, Apr 26: Prawn export has remained suspended to the European Union for last one month. EU threatened to stop the import of Bangladeshi prawn due to presence of nitro furan virus in exported frozen prawn.
Fisheries Department arranged an emergency meeting with the Bangladesh Frozen Foods Exporters Association (BFFEA) at Matshyo Bhabon on March 11 to resolve the problem. The meeting decided to stop the export of prawn to the EU countries temporarily. However, shrimp export will continue as usual.
