Preliminary phase of Nat'l Chess Championship begins Sunday next

The preliminary phase of the 36th National Chess Championship, organised by Bangladesh Chess Federation, will begin in the city Sunday (June 13) at the hall room of Bangladesh Chess Federation, reports UNB.
Players with rating of 2100 and above as well as selected players from different districts, Dhaka Metropolis, Universities and other organisations will be eligible to take part in the first phase competition.
Interested players have been asked to enroll their names by June 12 at Bangladesh Chess Federation office.
The championship will be held on 11-round Swiss-League system and top nine players will qualify for the final round.
Country's five Grand-masters - Ziaur Rahman, Reefat Bin Sattar, Enamul Hossain Razib, Abdullah Al Rakib and Niaz Murshed - will be entitled to play in the final phase.
