Premier bourse asked to inform on new automated trading system by Jan 30
FE Report | Friday, 24 January 2014
The securities regulator has asked the premier bourse to inform the regulator about the updates on the preparation of introducing the new automated trading system by January 30, officials said.
The regulatory move came in line with some allegations recently made by the stakeholders following the technical glitches which hindered the normal trading on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).
"The trading settlements faced troubles several times and the stakeholders made some complaints with the securities regulator. A proper system for non-stop trading is required amid the criticisms raised for the existing system," said the letter sent to DSE on January 21 last.
In its letter the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) has asked the DSE to submit the updates on new automated trading system by January 30 next.
The settlements on the DSE face troubles mainly on the day debut trading of newly listed securities.
When asked, the DSE officials acknowledged the letter sent by the securities regulator.
"The DSE is working to develop its automated trading system. Several times we sat with the vendors and the developments on trading system were also discussed at Thursday's board meeting," said a DSE official.
He said the premier bourse would make a presentation on the automated trading system at the securities regulator.
