Premier Football: Sk Jamal beat Ctg Abahani 2-1

Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club defeated Chittagong Abahani Ltd by 2-1 goals in the 2nd phase opening match of the Nitol-Tata Bangladesh Premier League at Bangabandhu National Stadium Friday, according to a news agency.
Forward Sohel Mia put Ctg Abahani ahead in the 8th minute of the match by taking an opportunity of misunderstanding between Sk Jamal defenders and goalkeeper when defender Diderul Haque sent a back pass to goalie Md Ziaur Rahman who failed to hold the ball and Ctg Abahani’s forward Sohel placed it into the net from zero angels 1-0.
Sk Jamal captain Nasiruddin Chowdhury restored the parity in the 73rd minute of the match by a header off a cross from Wedson from the left 1-1.
Captain Nasir doubled the margin in the 90th minute with a nice volley again on cross off Haitian Wedson from the left 2-1.
Earlier, Sk Jamal spoiled a chance in the 20th minute as their Nigerian forward Denial Onyekachi’s right footed shot from the box was saved by Selim Ullah who dived to the right.
Jamal were very neat to take a lead but Wedson fierce right footer was blocked by Ctg Abahni’s goalie Selim Ullah in the 80th minute.
With the day’s win, Sk Jamal secured 24 points from 10 outings while Ctg Abahani remained in their previous earning of 5 points from same number of matches.
