Premier varsity IT institute to contribute to digitisation of Ctg city

Chittagong, June 07: Premier University's Information Technology Institute, a centre of research and development, established with the support of Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) was conceived with the objective to provide practical experience to students of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of the university.
The Institute also intends to contribute extensively to the digitization of Chittagong City as announced by the CCC Mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury.
Speakers at the roundtable conference on "activities of Premier University IT Institute and Digital Chittagong" arranged by the PU at its Agrabad campus in the city today said that the Institute would design, develop and set up e-governance for Chittagong City Corporation in phases which would help augment the ability of CCC to extend support and help to the residents of Chittagong city.
Speaking on the occasion as chief guest, CCC Mayor and President of the Board of Governors of PU Board ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury said skilled manpower trained at the IT institute would help turn not only Chittagong into a digital city but also contribute to creating Digital Bangladesh.
Presided over by PU vice chancellor Dr Anupam Sen the roundtable was also addressed among others by Chittagong University (CU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Abu Yusuf Alam and former VC of CU Prof Abdul Mannan.
