Preparations afoot for making tomorrow's regional dialogues in Ctg

CHITTAGONG, June 26 (BSS): Preparations are afoot for making two regional dialogues successful in Chittagong city and Chondonaish Upazila in the district Saturday.

First dialogue for two and a half hours will start at the auditorium of Kashem Mahbub High School at Chondonaish Upazila Sodor at 9:00am and the second for maximum three hours at the auditorium of local Institute of Engineers, Bangladesh, at 1:30pm.

Chief Adviser Fakhruddin Ahmed is likely to attend and lead both the dialogues.

Officials said Education and Commerce Adviser Hossain Zillur Rahman, Communications, Housing and Public Works Adviser Ghulam Quader, Law and Religious Affairs Adviser Hassan Ariff, and LGRD and Cooperatives Adviser Anowarul Iqbal are likely to participate in the dialogues.

Such parleys outside the capital will be the maiden events of on-going national dialogue series aiming at incorporating the views of local stakeholders in the process of holding a credible election as per the roadmap and creating a sound political environment conducive to sustainable democracy and development apart from putting a focus on locally important issues.

The five-issue agenda that include local important issues related to public sufferings, elections to local government bodies, conducive and stable political environment, political stability during the post-election period and how to ensure qualitative changes in the country's political pattern would be discussed at the dialogues.
