Preserving fisheries resources in Bay underscored

CHITTAGONG, Mar 11: A skilled manpower equipped with modern education and technical knowledge is needed for preserving the vast field of fisheries resources lying in the Bay of Bengal to help provide people's nutrition, alleviating poverty, creating employment facilities and earning foreign currency.
Fisheries and Livestock minister Abdul Latif Biswas said this while speaking as chief guest at the graduation parade of 27th batch cadets of Marine Fisheries Academy, Chittagong on the academy premises recently.
The minister expressed his optimism that the trained cadets of the academy would play their effective role towards socio-economic uplift of the country.
Chittagong City Corporation Mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury, Academy Principal Commodore Hasan Zaman and high civil and military officials were present at the function.
