President, CA greet their UK counterparts on occasion of Queen's birthday

President Iajuddin Ahmed and Chief Adviser Fakhruddin Ahmed have greeted their counterparts of the United Kingdom (UK) on the occasion of the birthday of Queen Elizabeth-II that falls today (Saturday), reports UNB.

In a message to Queen Elizabeth-II, Dr Iajuddin said, "It gives me a great pleasure to convey to your majesty and through you to the people of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland my warmest greetings and felicitations on the occasion."

The President said Bangladesh and the UK have historical and traditional ties of friendship. "Over the years, our relations have grown in depth and dimension, which I am confident, will be further strengthened in the coming days."

The Chief Adviser, in another message to British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, said Bangladesh deeply values its relations with the United Kingdom.

"The historic ties binding the two Commonwealth countries have expanded over the years into substantial cooperation in many areas, including trade, investment and culture. I am confident that the close relations between Bangladesh and the United Kingdom will grow in depth and dimensions in the coming days," he said.

Both the President and the Chief Adviser wished their counterparts good health, long life and happiness and continued peace, progress and well being of the people of the United Kingdom.
