President calls for digital management at every step

President M Zillur Rahman Wednesday urged the authorities concerned to gradually turn the managements into digitalisation at every step to build a Digital Bangladesh, reports UNB.
The president said this when a delegation of immigration and passport authorities led by Home Minister Sahara Khatun met him at the Bangabhaban and handed over him the Machine Readable Passport (MRP).
The president appreciated the government for taking such efforts and expressed his satisfaction that the MRP programme is a positive step toward, the process of switching over to the digital Bangladesh by 2021.
The home minister apprised the president of various activities of her ministry, including the quick drive and rescue operation by the Fire Fighters and Civil Defence to save lives and properties from the devastating Nimtoli fire on June 3.
The delegation said the existing manual passports along with MRP would be issued until 2015 and the government has taken programme to speedily issue adequate number of passports to the people.
