President calls for imparting ICT training to scouts

President Mohammed Shahabuddin on Sunday called for imparting advanced training on information technology to scouts, reports UNB.
He said this after taking oath as the country's chief scout at Bangabhaban in the city.
Chief National Commissioner of Bangladesh Scouts Dr Md Mozammel Haque Khan administered the oath and adorned the President with scout badge.
President Shahabuddin was also awarded distinctive scout scarf by Bangladesh Scouts president Md Abul Kalam Azad.
Appreciating the role of scouts during natural disasters and national emergency, Shahabuddin said that they should be given advanced training with information technology so that they can involve themselves in any needs of the country.
The President asked the scout leaders to take necessary steps in this regard.
Noting that ethics and morals are very important in imparting education in scout activities, the President said scouting can also play a positive role in creating the ideological foundation of boys and girls.
He said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman initiated the scout movement in the country through an ordinance in 1972. The movement has now spread across the country.
Leadership development at every level is very important to move the country forward on the path of development and progress and build 'a smart Bangladesh', he observed.
After the initiation ceremony, Bangladesh Scouts president Md Abul Kalam Azad and Chief National Commissioner Dr Md Mozammel Haque Khan also briefed President about the overall activities of Bangladesh Scouts.
