President congratulates Patil

President Iajuddin Ahmed congratulated Pratibha Patil on her election as the President of India, who became the first woman head of state of that country, reports UNB.
"Bangladesh and India are two close neighbours with age-old ties. We have robust and friendly interactions on a whole range of issues in which our two countries have abiding interests," said Iajuddin in a message to the Indian President-elect.
He also said, "Bangladesh deeply values her friendly relations with India. We are confident that during your tenure as President of India, our close ties will be strengthened further."
Iajuddin also wished her good health and happiness.
