President for communal harmony to promote peace, prosperity

President Abdul Hamid  called for consolidating the country’s communal harmony to promote peace and prosperity.
“Bangladesh is a country of communal harmony. I expect that countrymen irrespective of religions and opinions will play proper role in national development by maintaining tradition of communal harmony,” he said.
The President’s remarks came at a reception he hosted for the members of Buddhist Community at Bangabhaban to mark Buddha Purnima Tuesday, the biggest religious festival of the community, according to a news agency.
State Minister for Chittagong Hill Tracts Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing, Buddhist religious leaders including Satya Priyo Mohathero, ambassadors and high commissioners of different Buddhist-majority countries including Thailand, Sri Lanka and Bhutan, representatives of various international organizations and professionals of Buddhist community attended the reception.
