President for expanding services of Information Commission

President M Zillur Rahman Monday urged the Information Commission to gradually expand its services for the welfare of the people, reports UNB.
"You've to remain alert that people get information without facing any hassle," he said when Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) Mohammad Zamir presented the annual report of the Commission to him at Bangabhaban.
Information Commissioners M Abu Taher and Prof Dr Sadeka Halim accompanied the CIC.
The President expressed his satisfaction over the activities of the Commission and urged the commissioners to extend their activities for the welfare of the countrymen.
The information commissioners sought cooperation of the President for incorporating an article on Right to Information Act (RTA) in textbooks under the secondary education curricula with a view to building a conscious generation.
The CIC informed the President that some 45 countries around the world are observing the activities of the Commission and Bhutan has already expressed its intention to replicate the Information Commission of Bangladesh.
