President for immediate arrest of RU teacher killers

President Abdul Hamid on Tuesday called for immediate arrest of and exemplary punishment to the killers of Rajshahi University teacher Prof AKM Shafiul Islam. ‘No one expects a scholar teacher of a higher educational institution to get murdered like this. I call for immediate arrest of and exemplary punishment to those involved,’ he said while speaking at the convocation of the Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) in the afternoon. Prof Shafiul Islam, who taught sociology at the university, died after being hacked by a gang of unidentified miscreants on Saturday, according to a news agency.
