President for increasing seats in public universities

President Zillur Rahman has laid emphasis on increasing number of seats for the students at the country's public universities for expanding opportunities of higher education.
He made the remarks while a three-member delegation of Khulna University (KU) led by its Vice Chancellor Prof Dr M Saifuddin Shah called on him at Bangabhaban in the city Monday, reports BSS.
Pro-vice Chancellor Prof Dr Purnendu Gain and Treasurer Fakir Abu Hossain were present on the occasion.
During the meeting, the President urged the university authority for keeping it free from session jams. "Other universities could follow the punctuality in academic management of this university in this regard," he observed.
The vice chancellor apprised the President that local people always cooperate with the university authority to continue the congenial atmosphere of academic system. He also said that the academic environment of KU was totally free from politics.
"We are able to take all examinations and publish its results on scheduled time because of the session-jam-free atmosphere," he added.
The delegation invited the President to preside over its upcoming 4th convocation to be held sometimes on mid of March.
