President for protecting human rights across country

President M Zillur Rahman has urged all to take effective measures for protecting human rights all over the country.
He was talking to a five-member delegation of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) at Bangabhaban Sunday, reports BSS.
The delegation, led by the commission Chairman Justice Amirul Kabir Chowdhury, submitted its annual report for 2009-2010 to the President.
The delegation said the human rights situation of the country was improving and the commission was relentlessly working to ensure human rights for all.
The delegation also apprised the President of its regular activities and sought his cooperation for further development of the commission.
Zillur Rahman assured the delegation of extending his all-out support for protecting human rights in the country as well as allocating the necessary budget to build the commission's office and to recruit its staff for smooth functioning.
Secretaries of the President's Office were present in the meeting.
