President for sending more troops to UN missions

President M Zillur Rahman Tuesday asked Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal SM Ziaur Rahman to take procedures for sending more Air Force personnel to the UN peacekeeping missions, reports BSS.
The President gave the directive when Chief of Air Staff called on him at Bangabhaban Tuesday.
Secretary of the President's office M Shafiul Alam, Military Secretary to the President, Maj Gen Abul Kalam M Humayun Kabir, and Press Secretary to the President AKM Nesar Uddin Bhuiyan were present on the occasion.
During the meeting, the President laid emphasis on modernising the Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) through adopting advanced technologies for ensuring better performances in the service.
Air Marshal Ziaur Rahman told the President that the winter exercise of Bangladesh Air Force would begin after the Victory Day on December 16.
He also apprised the President of his recent visit to China at the invitation of the Chinese Air Chief to attend the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Air Force of China.
The Air Chief also informed the President of different ongoing activities of the BAF.
President Zillur Rahman gave him a patient hearing and lauded the role of Bangladesh Air Force in different nation building activities.
