President hosts iftar for PM, Speaker

President Abdul Hamid hosted an iftar party in honor of the Prime Minister, Speaker, Chief Justice, cabinet members, MPs, foreign diplomats, eminent citizens and high civil and military officials at Bangabhaban Thursday.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha, former president HM Ershad and opposition leader Raushan Ershad attended the iftar party.
President's wife Rashida Khanom and PM's daughter Saima Hossain Putul along with their family members also joined the iftar.
On her arrival at Bangabhaban, the Prime Minister was received by President Hamid.
Cabinet members, deputy speaker, advisers to the Prime Minister, justices of the Supreme Court, cabinet secretary, chiefs of three services, principal secretary to the PM, foreign diplomats, Chief Election Commissioner, MPs, Attorney General, vice chancellors of public universities, lawyers, editors and senior journalists and a good number of eminent citizens and high civil and military officials also attended the iftar party.
The President and the Prime Minister went round different tables set for the guests, exchanged pleasantries with them and inquired about their well-being.
Before the iftar, a special munajat was offered seeking divine blessings for continued peace, progress and prosperity of the nation. Pesh Imam of Bangabhaban Jam-e-Mosque Moulana Saiful Kabir conducted the munajat.
