President hosts Janmashtami reception

President Zillur Rahman Thursday hosted a reception for the members of the Hindu community at Bangabhaban on the occasion of Janmashtami, the birthday of Lord Krishna, reports UNB.
Water Resources Minister Ramesh Chandra Sen and State Minister for Religious Affairs Adv Shahjahan Mia were present on the occasion.
Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pinak Ranjan Chakravarty and Nepalese Ambassador Pradeep Khatiwada were also present.
Besides, Hindu religious personalities including Principal of
Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission Swami Aksarananda Moharaj, leaders of the community including Maj Gen (retd) CR Dutta, judges, academics, freedom fighters, journalists, lawyers, doctors, businessmen, artistes, high civil and military officials attended the reception.
President Zillur Rahman welcomed the guests and exchanged pleasantries with them.
Secretary of the President's Office Mohammad Shafiul Alam, Military Secretary to the President Major General M Ehtesham Ul Haque and President's Press Secretary Abdul Awal Howlader were present during the reception.
