President hosts New Year reception

President Abdul Hamid and his wife Rashida Khanom on Tuesday night hosted a reception at Bangabhaban on the occasion of Bengla New Year, 1421. Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, Chief Justice M Muzammel Hossain, cabinet members and PM’s advisers attended the reception held at the Darbar Hall of the presidential palace. High civil and military officials, including chiefs of three services, chairmen of parliamentary standing committees, national award winners and cultural personalities also joined the reception. President Abdul Hamid exchanged greetings with the guests at the Credential Hall of Bangabhaban. Later, a cultural programme was held with the participation of the artists of Shilpakala Academy, according to a news agency.
