President leaves for Bolivia

President Abdul Hamid left Dhaka on Thursday for Bolivia and the United States for a 10-day official visit. The President left Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) International Airport by a regular Emirates Airlines flight at 10.20am. Finance Minister AMA Muhith, Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam, dean of the diplomatic corps, cabinet secretary, chiefs of the three services and concerned high civil and military officials were present at the airport to see him off. The President will reach Santa Cruz, the business state of Bolivia, on June 13 and the next day join the inaugural ceremony of ‘Commemorative Summit of G77 and China’ to be held at Santa Cruz de la Sierra on June 14-15. On June 15, President Hamid will address the summit focusing on various issues related to common interests of the platform of G77. After attending the summit, the President will leave Bolivia and reach New York on June 16. During his US tour, President Hamid will visit United Nations Secretariat in New York and hold a meeting with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on June 19. The President will also attend a reception to be accorded by Bangladesh community, residing in the US, on June 17. The President will leave New York on June 21 and return home on June 22, according to BSS.
