President leaves for USA Oct 30 on week-long visit

President Iajuddin Ahmed will leave for New York on October 30 on a week-long visit to the United States (US), with a number of functions on his agenda, reports UNB.
The President will reach New York on October 31 by a regular flight of the Emirates Airlines via Dubai, an official announcement said Monday.
His tour takes place in the wake of a series of top-level visits from Bangladesh to the US in recent times, including the trips of Chief Adviser (CA) of the caretaker government Fakhruddin Ahmed, Finance Adviser AB Mirza Azizul Islam and Army Chief General Moeen U Ahmed.
During his stay in the USA, the President would attend functions in Ohio and New Orleans.
He is scheduled to visit Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Centre on November 1 and deliver a speech on 'The Education System of Bangladesh' at Ohio State University on November 2.
The President will stay in Ohio on November 3 and go to New Orleans on November 4.
He will attend a conference and present a scientific paper on 'Bangladesh: Problems of Global Warming, Land Inundation and Arsenic Poisoning' in New Orleans.
The function is being jointly organised by the Soil Science Society of America, the American Society of Agronomy and the Crop Science Society of America.
On November 6, the President will leave New Orleans for New York and stay there. The next day (November 7), he will leave New York for Dhaka and arrive in the capital on November 8 in the afternoon.
President's wife Anwara Begum, military secretary and secretary to the President and officials concerned will accompany the President on the US trip.
