President mourns Prof Salahuddin\\\'s death

President Abdul Hamid on Sunday expressed deep shock at the death of National Professor Salahuddin Ahmed. In a condolence message, the President said, ‘The nation has lost an illustrious historian at the death of Prof Salahuddin Ahmed…the loss caused by his death to the practice of history in Bangladesh is irreparable.’ Abdul Hamid prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed his deep sympathy to the bereaved family members. Prof Salahuddin Ahmed, 92, died of old age complications in his Banani residence in the morning, according to a news agency.
