President pays homage to Fazilatunnesa Mujib

President Md Abdul Hamid has paid glowing tributes to the memories of Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib, spouse of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, marking her 84th birth anniversary on Friday. Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib was born on August 8, 1930, at Tungipara village in Gopalganj district and was assassinated along with Bangabandhu and most of the members of his family, including their three sons, on the night of August 15, 1975. In a message on the eve of the birth anniversary, the President said Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib always encouraged Bangabandhu and gave directives to the party in absence of her husband. Hamid said she used to lead a very simple life. The contributions of Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib in various movements and struggle of Bangalee nation will be remembered forever. He said the principles of Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib would inspire the country’s womenfolk from ages, according to BSS.
