President, PM join iftar hosted by JS Speaker

President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina joined Tuesday an iftar mahfil hosted by Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury at the LD Hall-2 of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban. On their arrival at the venue, the President and the Prime Minister were received by Dr Shirin Sharmin. Later, Abdul Hamid and Sheikh Hasina accompanied by Dr Shirin Sharmin went round different tables set for the guests and exchanged pleasantries with them. A special munajat was offered before the iftar seeking continued peace, progress and prosperity of the nation. Deputy Speaker Advocate Fazley Rabbi Mian conducted the munajat. Prayers were also offered seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and other martyrs of the August 15 carnage and the martyrs of the Liberation War. Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha, Leader of the Opposition Begum Raushan Ershad, Deputy Speaker Advocate Fazley Rabbi Mian, Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, Agriculture Minister Begum Matia Chowdhury, Chief Whip ASM Feroze and the whips were present. Besides, PM's daughter Saima Hossain Putul, ministers, state ministers, parliament members and journalists joined the iftar.
